Unpainted shelves for USM Haller: Raw steel look without powder coating

USM Haller furniture is not available unpainted directly from the factory or through regular retail channels. The system is characterized by standard powder-coated metal shelves and chrome-plated steel tubes. If you want a raw, industrial look, you'll need to consider other solutions.

What alternatives are there?

If the classic, powder-coated look is too smooth for you and you want the charm of raw metal on your USM Haller furniture, there are three options.

Unpainted shelves at Modula24

To our knowledge, Modula24 is the only supplier offering USM Haller-compatible shelves unpainted. All other retailers only carry powder-coated variants. Our prices are significantly lower than comparable coated versions:

Specialized Dealers and Refurbishers

Some dealers offer used USM Haller systems where the original paint has been professionally removed or the raw, unpainted metal panels (often referred to as "raw steel" or "rust edition") have been refurbished. If you are looking for this option, you should search for specialized USM restorers.

Foil Systems as an Alternative

Instead of laboriously sanding down or repainting the furniture, you can also use custom-fit magnetic foils. Providers like ModularRestyle offer foils that are simply placed on the existing metal panels. This allows you to change the look without modifying the original parts. This is particularly practical if you want to keep the option of returning to the painted version later.

Assemble your own furniture

To ensure you don't later find that the result doesn't suit your furniture, you should answer two questions beforehand:
