If you are looking for furniture in the style of USM Haller or want to extend an existing piece, you have several options: buy the original new, buy used, build with compatible parts or choose furniture with a similar look. Here you will find the differences set out factually – so you can find the right solution for your project.

In short: what suits whom?
- Original new – if manufacturer warranty, original colors and resale value are most important and the budget allows.
- Original used – if you want a specific piece of furniture at a lower price and are flexible regarding dimensions and color.
- Compatible parts – if you want to add to existing furniture, replace individual parts or build a piece exactly to your dimensions, at a fraction of the new price.
- Discount-store promotional goods or Tchibo CN3 – if only the look counts and the furniture is not meant to be combined with USM Haller.
USM Haller original new
The original impresses with its manufacturer warranty, all original colors and a high resale value. It is bought through specialist retailers, who also plan and deliver. USM Haller used
Used originals are available on classified ad sites, in office clearances and from specialist dealers. They hold their value well, usually at 50–70 % of the new price. However, the configuration rarely fits exactly, pickup and transport are laborious, and missing parts have to be bought anyway – this is where compatible parts help. When buying, pay attention to the generation (connectors) and the condition of the powder coating.
Compatible spare parts and furniture parts
Compatible parts match the original in dimensions, grid and thread. With them you replace individual parts, extend existing furniture or build a new piece exactly to your dimensions – also mixed with original parts. Compatible parts are not original USM parts and do not have their resale value. In return they often cost only a fraction, are quickly available and can be returned to us within 30 days.
Other suppliers of compatible parts
Besides us, other retailers offer parts compatible with USM Haller, for example konektra or HausLab. Comparing is worthwhile. Pay particular attention to:
- Warehouse location and delivery time – does the merchandise come from a warehouse in the EU or from overseas?
- Compatibility – do the parts fit your furniture and its generation (1st or 2nd)? Is the matching tool available?
- Selection – which colors, sizes and tube lengths are in stock, are custom sizes possible?
- Service – right of return, contact person, planning help such as a configurator.
- Total price – including shipping, customs and any volume discounts.
Discount-store promotional goods and Tchibo CN3
At Aldi, Lidl or in online furniture shops, furniture in the USM look keeps appearing as promotional goods – inexpensive, but in fixed models, with few colors and without the option to buy more later. Tchibo CN3 is a modular system of its own that is visually reminiscent of USM Haller; parts of the two systems cannot be combined.
