USM Haller 1st vs. 2nd Generation: How to Tell the Difference

Around 1990, the 1st generation of the USM Haller design classic was replaced by the 2nd generation of this modular furniture system. At first glance, the two generations hardly differ. But as is often the case, the devil is in the details: You'll face the biggest challenges - especially during planned reconfiguration or disassembly - with the connectors!

While the outer elements of both USM Haller generations pose no problems during assembly and disassembly, the connectors of the 1st generation differ significantly from those of the 2nd generation.

1st Generation Connector
